About
Hello, I'm Alicja. I'm a system engineer in space industry, currently working on the satellites' data processing units in the polish company KP Labs. Being a part of the KRAKsat team, I had the possibility to work on the fifth polish satellite, which was placed on the LEO in July 2019, and reentered in January 2022. I also used to be a part of the operators team of another polish CubeSat - PW-Sat2 (before it deorbited and burned in the atmosphere). I graduated in Computer Science from the Jagiellonian University with a master thesis focused on satellite communication and mission control systems. I started in KP Labs as a space software engineer, creating code for Intuition-1 spacecraft but now my role is more interdisciplinary as I focus on whole systems.
I am a co-founder of We Need More Space meetups popularizing space industry topics in Cracow and Gliwice. Besides space, my great topic of interest is general aviation and I'm happy to be fulfilling my dream as a small airplane pilot. In 2021 I became an Analog Astronaut - I took part in an Orpheus 11 mission in LunAres Research Station as the Mission Engineer.
Here, you can find some info about the projects I work on. Enjoy!
